Strengthening Health Systems, Promoting Client-Centered Care Underpins Jhpiego’s Support of Humanitarian Needs

When Cyclone Idai roiled through Mozambique a few years ago, Jhpiego country staff worked with the government and other partners to help contain a cholera outbreak in the most affected areas of Sofala Province. Jhpiego has offered support in other humanitarian crises because of our commitment to the people we serve. “When a crisis hits, we will not be packing up to leave, or waiting for the situation to settle, because that’s not an option,” says Debora Bossemeyer, Jhpiego’s Vice President for Global Programs.

Community Influencer Offers Support to People Living with HIV

Influential in his Sierra Leone community, Gibrilla Sillah shares the importance of staying on HIV treatment, maintaining health and offering advice on living positively. The Global Reach II program is active in four countries.

Meet Midwife Ermina

In Indonesia, Ermina Andriani Bara and other midwives serving remote communities rely on a rural ambulance system to get pregnant women to the right facility to give birth. Support from the Jhpiego-led MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership project and partners helped develop this lifesaving system.
